Founded in 1973, "The Mudds" is an active amateur theatre group in Carleton Place. Our acronym name tells our mission to bring Music, Dance, Drama on Stage in the community. We strive to foster an appreciation of performing arts for members and our audiences. We were incorporated as a "Not For Profit Group" in 1988. With an active membership of 60 or more we are known for our theme driven musical reviews such as Canajun Eh, Stocking Full of Jazz, and Blast From The Past. Our family musicals in the style of English panto, such as Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Hercules are favourites. There is strong audience support for dramas such as Waiting For The Parade and comedies such as The Odd Couple. We regularly present Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre in partnership with the Heritage Inn. We recently added Youth theatre workshops and productions to our activities. |
